Sandy interviews Lawrence Thorne, VP of Sales and Marketing, Americas, at Firecomms, a company headquartered in Cork, Ireland, that provides light sources and sensors for home networking based on plastic optical fiber (POF). They discussed how telcos can use POF instead of Category 5 cabling for triple-play installations when existing wiring is unavailable or unsuitable. The interview was taped at the IPTV World Forum North America conference in Chicago, July 23, 2008.
